Our company began as a small trader of ornamental freshwater fish for local demand in 1970. In 1972 we expanded our portfolio with ornamental marine fish. Exporting activities began in 1974 to Germany, under the license of other established exporters. From 1978 to 1980, we provided aquarium service and maintenance to Hotels in Bali.
In 1987 our company was established as CV DINAR and exported marine ornamental fish to the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Poland, Australia, Canada, France, Belgium, and the USA.
CV DINAR is always interested in creating sustainable resources for the aquarium trade. So we started our clam breeding program, for which we obtained the permit from the Indonesian Government on the 8th of August 1997 by the letter of Permit from the Ministry of Forestry Number 509/KPTS-VI/1997. We have cultured development Tridacna squamosa; Tridacna gigas; Tridacna derasa; Tridacna maxima; Tridacna crocea; Hippopus porcelanus, Trochus niloticus.
For the same reason we started our coral propagation program. We started this program in 1998 with special stations designated to coral propagation all over Bali, including North Bali, West Bali and Serangan Island. In the year 2000 our efforts in breeding marine organisms were extended to abalone (Haliotis) and Amphiprion.
Following the massive expansion of our company since 1987 CV DINAR became limited liability company and the name was changed to PT. Dinar Darum Lestari. The increase of company status was approved by Deed I Gusti Putu Anom Kerti, SH.06, dated 13 April 2009.
In the year 2014 our efforts in breeding marine organisms were extended to seahorses, namely Hippocampus barbouri.
PT. Dinar Darum Lestari has 2 export station in Bali & Jakarta and 14 substations located in Sulawesi (3 stations), Bali (4 stations), Java (4 stations), Nusa Tenggara Barat (2 stations), Lampung, and 181 employees.
