About Animal Wellfare

Animal welfare in the aquatic pet trade is the holistic commitment to an organism’s physical health, environmental stability, and psychological well-being. It represents the ethical and scientific standard of ensuring that marine life does more than merely survive; it actively thrives. This means providing conditions that allow for natural behaviors while systematically minimizing stress, pain, and disease throughout every stage of cultivation, holding, and global transport.

Our Animal Wellfare Policy

PT Dinar Darum Lestari is committed to ensuring that ornamental fish are treated properly and maintained in healthy, safe conditions with minimal stress throughout all processes from capture and aquaculture to maintenance and export by adhering to scientific standards, sustainable practices, and national and international regulations.

This policy applies to all operational activities and related partners, through the implementation of five key fish welfare principles: maintaining optimal water quality, minimizing handling stress, preventing and promptly treating diseases, providing adequate and appropriate nutrition, and ensuring an environment that supports natural behavior.

In practice, the company uses environmentally friendly capture methods, applies appropriate aquaculture practices, conducts quarantine and routine health monitoring, handles fish with care, and ensures safe and stable packaging and transportation.

Welfare monitoring is carried out daily, supported by mandatory compliance for all suppliers. Responsibilities are clearly assigned across teams, and this policy must be understood, implemented, and regularly reviewed to ensure that welfare standards are consistently maintained.
